Book Page Workshop

This workshop explores Book Page Art as a unique way to repurpose and reimagine old paperbacks. Rather than starting from a blank page, we will use pages pulled from discarded books, allowing the text, font, or texture of the paper to provide inspiration for drawing, painting, or collage. Pages can become a singular work of art, or a set of multiples. They can also fold and tear into collage elements, and participants will learn how to affix and mount pages together. This process is meant to be experimental and fun as we up-cycle unwanted books into imaginative works of art using words and images.

All materials provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own books and or collage materials.

This workshop is in conjunction with current exhibition, “Absent Referent”, by Kim Rae Taylor and Autumn Kioti. On view in the East Gallery at Arts warehouse September 1st – October 28th.
