Blending the ethereal luminosity of Impressionism with a duty to realism, Jacob creates oil paintings that capture the  beauty of natural landscapes. His work explores the delicate interplay of light, shadow, hue, value , and texture, transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary visual experiences. Jacob’s goal in documentation of landscapes is to re-create the feeling of a moment. The image you stand before intends to recreate the feelings Jacob experiences while creating the piece.

Jacob first started painting close to three years ago while trying to find some type of meaning or understanding of the world during a particularly difficult chapter in his life. He found that painting seemed to ease his suffering and began to heal my soul. What started as a creative outlet and tool he used to redirect his thinking, turned into a passion. Painting occupies his mind in a healthy way, a way for him to safely escape reality; it felt like he had found a missing puzzle piece in his life.

From the way light strikes objects, to the way shadows cast themselves across landscapes — Jacob genuinely finds comfort in the natural world, compelling him to recreate it. Generally, he paint to recreate natural beauty that you only experience for a snap shot of time.
