Andrea Sarcos

Andrea Sarcos is a Venezuelan-American visual artist and photographer based between Delray Beach and Miami, Florida. Working across fine art and documentary photography, her practice explores memory, migration, identity, and human connection, while drawing inspiration from the lush landscapes, tropical fruit, and flora and fauna of South Florida. Through images that are both intimate and atmospheric, she examines how place, culture, and personal history shape the way we see ourselves and one another.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Sarcos lived as an undocumented immigrant in South Florida until the age of eighteen. Her lived experience informs her long-term documentary work and brings a deeply personal perspective to stories of migration and belonging. Alongside her documentary practice, she creates fine art photographs that celebrate the quiet beauty of everyday life, inviting viewers to slow down, notice, and reconnect with the natural world.

Sarcos was selected for The New York Times Portfolio Review, and named one of Photolucida’s Top 50 photographers. Through both her artistic practice and educational work, she is committed to fostering curiosity, empathy, and meaningful connection through photography.

Andrea is an educator for the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County and teaches photography classes to students K-12 in Delray Beach and Belle Glade, Florida. She has led educational trips with National Geographic Student Expeditions and Putney Student Travel to Barcelona, Ecuador and Costa Rica.

She is a student of the Eddie Adams Workshop XXXIII and a member of Women Photograph and WOPHA.
