The Fun of Painting Without a Brush, Paint Pouring

December 7 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

REGISTER HERE

This workshop covers some of the endless possibilities that fluid paint technique gives to create interesting compositions!

The workshop will begin with demonstrations by the instructor, followed by a chance for hands-on creation by attendees.

The mixture of the pigments, water, and special additives with different densities will create pieces with impressive results! The science behind this type of art is the fluid dynamics, plus the chemistry behind the pigments with different components.

This technique puts your mind at ease by promoting relaxation and an unwinding sensation while creating. Ultimately, it’s an exciting way to create abstract paintings.

This workshop is for adults of all levels. No drawing or painting skills required.

All materials provided! *Students need to bring nothing but an apron or clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty.

Covered topics:

Substrates and paints

Color theory

Combination of colors

Canvas preparation

Mixing additives with pigments

Paint density

Students will leave with a finished piece on canvas and the basic skills to create at home!

I developed my style working with textures and fluid paint. I use numerous layers of acrylic containing varying densities. Translucencies, and opacities are created above the texture initially conveyed on the canvas by acrylic mediums. I find that the contrast accomplished by the sharpness of the underlying surface, combined with the motion reflected by the flow of the fluid paint, give my paintings an interesting balance generating organic structures, which mostly always represent nature.
