This workshop is a hands-on guide to mastering the art of plein air (outdoor) oil painting. Participants will learn to observe and capture the dynamic interplay of light, color, and movement in a natural setting while focusing on essential painting principles like temperature, values, hues, and form.
What to expect:
Participants will learn to simplify complex scenes into basic forms, establish a strong foundation with an underpainting, and gradually build their painting using layering techniques. The workshop emphasizes capturing the essence of the scene with color, adjusting for changing light, and adding texture and detail, culminating in final refinements and an opportunity for questions and feedback.

Instructor Biography
Jacob Garcia
Blending the ethereal luminosity of Impressionism with a duty to realism, Jacob creates oil paintings that capture the beauty of natural landscapes. His work explores the delicate interplay of light, shadow, hue, value , and texture, transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary visual experiences. Jacob’s goal in documentation of landscapes is to re-create the feeling of a moment. The image you stand before intends to recreate the feelings Jacob experiences while creating the piece.
