About the instructor:

Ashnide Jean-Baptiste, a Palm Beach based artist, creates vibrant fabric wigs from reused materials as a means of self expression and performance art. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida International University (2022), she exhibited her work in To Recognize a Pattern at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum (2023) and led a workshop there to introduce her recycled art. Now teaching workshops in Miami and Palm Beach County, Ashnide’s wearable pieces and upcycled headdress workshops, have garnered attention. Her work has been displayed at venues including the Miami Beach Urban Studios, Laundromat Artspace, Cultural Council, Resource Depot, and Hatch 1121.
