Exhibition: Steve’s Hall of Shame

Arts Warehouse presents “Steve’s Hall of Shame”, a selection of paintings by artist Steven Hendrxx in the Back Room Gallery at Arts Warehouse.
Steven Hendrxx is an illustrator and painter based in Blountstown, FL. Every artwork is treated like a song. The paintings are based off of song lyrics and become a visual synopsis of the song. The main goal is to create art the represents a light tone even with the subject matter being rooted in despair and sadness, like a lot of the songs the work is based off, they present a sad subject decorated with an upbeat rhythm. Hendrxx’s work is identified by it’s highly saturated colors and abstracted features patched together with little elements of symbolism. His work can be described as a mix of cubism and post impressionism.
