Botanical Painting in Sumi Ink

Modern ink painting for all skill levels.

Learn simple techniques using Sumi Ink and natural papers to create your own botanical paintings inspired by nature’s silhouettes, bringing focus to the interplay of light and dark.

This session is designed to provide instruction through a demonstration at the beginning of the workshop, while encouraging your own personal style to come through while trying it on your own!

In this class you will:

-Learn how to work with Sumi ink

-Playfully explore the interesting characteristics of botanical silhouettes

-Final execution of one designed botanical in ink on natural color artist paper

About the Instructor:

Majoring in Illustration at Savannah College of Art & Design, I started my journey working as a textile designer for six years in Atlanta, GA. After lots of soul searching I jumped into a career of painting in 2013. I have been doing so full time since selling fine art, prints, and licensing my work.

The natural world is so beautiful and I hope my art is a reflection of that sentiment.
