Dominique Denis

Dominique is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer, exploring the relationship between design, memory, and culture. Although whimsical and playful in nature, her design experimentations are layered investigations of serious topics related to how people occupy space and interact within the built environment. Working at the intersection of art and architecture, her body of work vary in medium and scale, from objects in space to habitable spaces.

In the Fall 2021, she started experimenting with clay, creating a series of hand-built sculptures conceptualized around themes of nostalgia, identity, transformation, and belonging. Each hand-built sculpture reflects the plurality of her experiences as a designer and is a vessel for storytelling that echoes and reframes her personal narrative.

Dominique holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the City College of the City University of New York and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University. She has more than two decades of combined experience in architecture, urban planning, and public art curating and has worked for several architecture firms in the New York metropolitan area and Florida.
