Bring your story to life with this writing workshop on world building & character development with author/publishing team, Visual Adjectives
Join Edward Stinson and Michelle Lawrence of Visual Adjectives for a writing workshop focused on world building and character development. The workshop will help you create a world in your story with laws, social norms, and unique identifiers as well as aid you in creating protagonists, antagonists, and supporting characters. Participants will create a short story with the knowledge they’ve learned in the workshop.
An anthology packet of all participant’s stories will be created and shared after the workshop. They will also take home the notes from the lecture of the class to use for future work.
Ideal for beginner writers or experienced authors seeking a new perspective, ages 18+. (There will be a teen workshop offered also!)
Participants should bring a notebook or laptop to write.
Deadline to register is December 6th at 7PM.

This writing workshop will help you understand if and what kind of world building your story needs. It will help you consider your suspension of disbelief in a story by deciding what laws, rules, and cultural expectations to adhere to. By discussing the major character components, focuses, weaknesses, strengths, and by understanding character tropes, your characters will be written with realistic variety and provide a relatable or unique personality.
