SUMMARY:SCULPTURAL PAINTING: Texture\, Light\, and Dimension 2-Day
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nWednesday\, December 16 & Thursday\, December 17\n10:30am – 3pm | No makeup dates \nDiscover the exciting possibilities of sculptural painting in this hands-on\, two-day workshop where paint meets relief and simple geometric forms become striking works of art. \nWorking with modeling paste\, palette knives\, masking tape\, and texturing tools\, you’ll experiment with raised lines\, bold shapes\, and dimensional surfaces to create a contemporary relief painting with depth\, rhythm\, and visual impact on an 18” x 24” wood panel. \nExplore how texture catches the light\, how shadows transform a surface\, and how subtle tonal shifts bring geometric compositions to life. Through playful experimentation and guided instruction\, you’ll learn to build dimension\, balance positive and negative space\, and turn a flat surface into a richly tactile artwork with the sophistication of neutral color. \nNo two surfaces are alike. Let texture lead the way and discover the beauty of texture\, the quiet drama of neutrals\, and the art of creating dimension through light and shadow. \n🎨 All levels welcome. \n🖌️ All supplies included. \n🥪 Bring a lunch for fuel. \n🌸 Bring a smock and vinyl gloves-and be ready to create with a magic up your sleeve! \nInstructor Information: \nRenée Rey is a New York artist who has called Delray Beach\, Florida home for the past four years. With more than 10 years of experience teaching art\, she brings a broad range of experience—and a passion for experimentation—to the classroom. \nRey has taught classical\, Impressionist\, and abstract drawing; live figure drawing; portraiture; acrylic and oil painting; mixed media; and collage. Her approach combines strong foundational skills with experimentation\, encouraging students to develop their own visual language while discovering new ways to see and make. \nHer background is equally interdisciplinary. Rey studied Interior Architecture and Drawing & Painting at Parsons School of Design\, and continued her studies in drawing\, painting\, and art history at SUNY Albany and Palm Beach State College. She holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MA in Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. \nA practicing artist for more than 30 years\, Rey brings the perspective of a working artist into every class. Her goal is simple: to give students the skills\, confidence\, and freedom to make their own work—and have a good time doing it. \n

SUMMARY:Alcohol Ink Art on Silk Scarves
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nDesign your own unique silk scarves in this fun\, hands-on workshop! Using vibrant alcohol inks\, you’ll explore techniques to create dazzling tie-dye effects and abstract designs that transform plain white silk into sophisticated\, one-of-a-kind accessories. No prior experience is needed—just bring your imagination and enjoy a relaxing\, inspiring session. You’ll leave with two stunning silk scarves to wear or gift! One scarf is 21” square and the other is 10” x 60”. \nTWO TICKET OPTIONS: \nOption 1: $65.00 – Includes all supplies \nOption 2: $55.00 – Bring your own Alcohol Ink (at least three .5 oz bottles – colors of your choice). \nWhat is Alcohol Ink? \nAlcohol ink is a fluid art. The inks are dye-based and extremely vibrant due to heavy pigmentation. The inks glide freely on non-porous surfaces and are easily manipulated with various techniques such as blowing\, stamping or brushing. Another unique quality of alcohol ink is that the dried ink can be “revived” when coming into contact with fresh ink or blending solution\, allowing for further process of the design. Alcohol ink is a fun and unique medium\, allowing for creative freedom. \nAbout the teaching artist: \nDebra L. Snyder\, Fine Artist/Potter/Instructor \nI began my formal art education at Parsons School of Art & Design in New York and years later studied acrylic and watercolor painting with renowned artists at the Woodstock School of Art. My favorite theme for landscapes and seascapes was inspired while living at the Jersey Shore\, the Catskill Mountains and the coastal areas of New England. My first encounter with alcohol ink occurred ten years ago while traveling in Arizona. I was immediately intrigued by this fluid art\, the brilliance of the pigment and its versatility. Unlike acrylic or watercolor painting\, alcohol ink allows for a freedom of expression which I find unique and challenging. I have been practicing as an alcohol ink artist since then and continue to discover new techniques and applications with this exciting medium. \nClay art has also been one of my passions and has kept me captivated for twenty years now. I am continually improving and exploring throwing techniques and I find the rewards of throwing clay immeasurable. \nwww.artpartyexpress.com for more information. \n
