Modern ink painting for all skill levels.
Learn simple techniques using Sumi Ink and natural papers to create your own botanical paintings inspired by nature’s silhouettes, bringing focus to the interplay of light and dark.
From studying plant silhouettes to guided brushstroke techniques, discover the magic of fluid ink. In this class you will:
- learn how to work with Sumi ink
- playfully explore the interesting characteristics of botanical silhouettes
- final execution of one designed botanical in ink on natural color artist paper
In person, one on one instruction. This class is designed to provide instruction while encouraging your own personal style to come through.
** In the event of a cancellation more than seventy two (72) hours prior to the event date, the applicant will receive a refund of the ticket fee. No refund will be given if less than seventy two (72) hours notice of the cancellation is given.
About the Instructor:
Majoring in Illustration at Savannah College of Art & Design, I started my journey working as a textile designer for six years in Atlanta, GA. After lots of soul searching I jumped into a career of painting in 2013. I have been doing so full time since selling fine art, prints, and licensing my work. The natural world is so beautiful and I hope my art is a reflection of that sentiment.
