SUMMARY:Mimic the Masters Acrylic Painting
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n*Please don’t wait to register! Workshops that do not meet the minimum number of students 3 days prior to the session date will be canceled or rescheduled. Signing up early helps us ensure that the workshop can take place. Thank you! \nMimic the Masters Acrylic Painting\nLed by Ma Nong \nJoin Resident Artist and instructor Ma Nong for this workshop where you’ll use acrylic paint on canvas to mimic the artwork of your favorite master artists! Whether you love portraits\, landscapes\, or florals\, this class offers a hands-on experience to explore the colors\, brush strokes\, marks\, and composition techniques that define the greats. \nFeel free to bring a picture you’d like to paint or borrow an inspiring art book from the front desk to find your perfect subject. \nAll materials are provided. \nInstructor Biography \nMa Nong \nAs a Taiwanese born in Korea\, I moved to South Florida in 2013. We encountered strangeness and difference at every turn\, but the sunlight\, sky\, and green nature of the subtropical culture always gave me warm inspiration. I have lived in South Florida for a decade now compressing and symbolizing this into color-rich cubes representing home\, the strangeness of being different from my native country\, and the process of adapting. Gradually\, I developed a series of portraits exploring the signifiers of human nature. Humanoid figures are portrayed as children’s dolls with exaggerated heads and smaller torsos and are centered and anchored as if trying to root themselves into the frame. They reflect child-like vulnerability where the feelings of dread\, loneliness\, and weakness to the familiar/unfamiliar world are present. Dimensional crystalline shapes simultaneously create and break the form; symbolizing complex units that both comprise and undermine identity. Color is bold and convincing\, resembling that of nationality\, yet it doesn’t reveal the true origin of the figure. In this process of seeing and feeling all my surrounding environments\, large puzzles are put together one by one\, and these experiences are fused and harmonized in one complete work. \n** Please note\, Refunds will be processed only if requested 72+ hours prior to scheduled workshop date/time. No refund will be given if requested less than seventy two (72) hours until scheduled workshop time for any reason. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nWednesday\, December 16 & Thursday\, December 17\n10:30am – 3pm | No makeup dates \nDiscover the exciting possibilities of sculptural painting in this hands-on\, two-day workshop where paint meets relief and simple geometric forms become striking works of art. \nWorking with modeling paste\, palette knives\, masking tape\, and texturing tools\, you’ll experiment with raised lines\, bold shapes\, and dimensional surfaces to create a contemporary relief painting with depth\, rhythm\, and visual impact on an 18” x 24” wood panel. \nExplore how texture catches the light\, how shadows transform a surface\, and how subtle tonal shifts bring geometric compositions to life. Through playful experimentation and guided instruction\, you’ll learn to build dimension\, balance positive and negative space\, and turn a flat surface into a richly tactile artwork with the sophistication of neutral color. \nNo two surfaces are alike. Let texture lead the way and discover the beauty of texture\, the quiet drama of neutrals\, and the art of creating dimension through light and shadow. \n🎨 All levels welcome. \n🖌️ All supplies included. \n🥪 Bring a lunch for fuel. \n🌸 Bring a smock and vinyl gloves-and be ready to create with a magic up your sleeve! \nInstructor Information: \nRenée Rey is a New York artist who has called Delray Beach\, Florida home for the past four years. SUMMARY:Alcohol Ink Floral Bouquets on Large Cardstock
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nAlcohol Ink Floral Bouquets on Large Cardstock\nJoin us for an exciting alcohol ink workshop and discover the beauty of this fascinating vivid fluid art. These inks have the unique ability to dry rapidly and repeatedly revitalize while maintaining their vibrant color. \nIn this workshop students will learn basic and advanced techniques to manipulate and paint with this medium. Following a practice piece\, students will create their one-of-a kind floral bouquet on an 8 x 10 or larger cardstock. Demonstrations and individual attention will be provided by the artist to create a variety of flowers\, stems and leaves. All levels welcome and supplies provided. \nWhat is Alcohol Ink? \nAlcohol ink is a fluid art. The inks are dye-based and extremely vibrant due to heavy pigmentation. The inks glide freely on non-porous surfaces and are easily manipulated with various techniques such as blowing\, stamping or brushing. Another unique quality of alcohol ink is that the dried ink can be “revived” when coming into contact with fresh ink or blending solution\, allowing for further process of the design. Alcohol ink is a fun and unique medium\, allowing for creative freedom. \nAbout the teaching artist: \nDebra L. Snyder\, Fine Artist/Potter/Instructor \nI began my formal art education at Parsons School of Art & Design in New York and years later studied acrylic and watercolor painting with renowned artists at the Woodstock School of Art. My favorite theme for landscapes and seascapes was inspired while living at the Jersey Shore\, the Catskill Mountains and the coastal areas of New England. My first encounter with alcohol ink occurred ten years ago while traveling in Arizona. I was immediately intrigued by this fluid art\, the brilliance of the pigment and its versatility. Unlike acrylic or watercolor painting\, alcohol ink allows for a freedom of expression which I find unique and challenging. I have been practicing as an alcohol ink artist since then and continue to discover new techniques and applications with this exciting medium. \nClay art has also been one of my passions and has kept me captivated for twenty years now. I am continually improving and exploring throwing techniques and I find the rewards of throwing clay immeasurable. \nwww.artpartyexpress.com for more information. \n
