Isolated in the countryside\, he would spend his time drawing and cycling long distances\, when not at school. When he was 18 his family moved to Milan\, and after beginning to study Fine Arts\, disappointed with the learning\, at the age of 20 he began a pilgrimage which led him to live in many places around the world. After studying Illustration in Falmouth (England) and then Dundee (Scotland) he went to Madrid (Spain) where he resumed his studies in Fine Arts and at the same time he began exhibiting in art galleries. In 2006 he won the most prestigeous painting prize in Spain\, the “Premio BMW”\, and in 2007 he finished his Master of Fine Arts. \nIn 2008 he moved to London\, where he had several solo exhibitions\, and in 2016 to Glasgow (Scotland). In this city\, where there is hardly any of the sun that he grew up with\, and while he was preparing solo exhibitions for international galleries in Lima (Perú)\, Madrid (Spain) or San Francisco (USA)\, he decided there was no point in struggling to find a good artist studio and commit to spending years in the same place. He stopped accumulating objects\, got rid of possessions and began to travel and paint wherever he was\, and then take the rolled-up canvases to the galleries with which he collaborated. In 2017 he began to travel with two suitcases and a tube for the canvases\, where he captured the inspiration found in each place. In 2023 Del Campo moved to Miami. Del Campo has had solo shows in Madrid\, Valencia\, Barcelona\, London\, Milan\, Lugano\, Lima\, San Francisco and Dallas\, and has participated in group shows and art fairs in Europe\, Asia\, the United States and Latin America. \nIn his art\, locations remain unidentifiable\, as he frequently blends aspects from one city with those of another. Instead\, his primary emphasis lies on individuals\, their narratives\, connections\, and emotions\, which surpass geographical boundaries and manifest in a more extensive human encounter. \nHe paints people his friends and family\, and the people he meets in his travels\, and fondly cultivates his circle without borders. His paintings\, far from simply seeking to capture a resemblance with his sitters or the reality as it is\, strive to construct a narrative. He gets inspiration from the stories of his sitters\, to speak about the uprooting\, the zest for life\, the solitude and the awareness of the ephemeral. \nIn his recent paintings\, he’s transcending realism\, crafting compositions that embody fragments of a reality formed by diverse moments and places. This connection mirrors the way we engage with images nowadays. \nMore info micheledelcampo.com

SUMMARY:Self-Portrait Painting with Acrylic Paint
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nPlease don’t wait to register! Workshops that do not meet the minimum number of students 3 days prior to the session date will be canceled or rescheduled. Signing up early helps us ensure that the workshop can take place. Thank you! \nSelf-Portrait Painting with Acrylic Paint\nFriday\, August 28 | 10:30am – 1:30pm \nJoin Resident Artist and instructor Ma Nong for a full-day workshop to create a self portrait using acrylic paint! In this session\, you will learn how to format the portrait composition\, mix colors to understand color theory\, and create a unique portrait that captures expression! All levels welcome. \nAttendees must bring portrait image that they would like to paint. \nAll supplies included. Bring a smock if desired. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor Biography \nMa Nong \nAs a Taiwanese born in Korea\, I moved to South Florida in 2013. We encountered strangeness and difference at every turn\, but the sunlight\, sky\, and green nature of the subtropical culture always gave me warm inspiration. I have lived in South Florida for a decade now compressing and symbolizing this into color-rich cubes representing home\, the strangeness of being different from my native country\, and the process of adapting. Gradually\, I developed a series of portraits exploring the signifiers of human nature. Humanoid figures are portrayed as children’s dolls with exaggerated heads and smaller torsos and are centered and anchored as if trying to root themselves into the frame. They reflect child-like vulnerability where the feelings of dread\, loneliness\, and weakness to the familiar/unfamiliar world are present. Dimensional crystalline shapes simultaneously create and break the form; symbolizing complex units that both comprise and undermine identity. Color is bold and convincing\, resembling that of nationality\, yet it doesn’t reveal the true origin of the figure. In this process of seeing and feeling all my surrounding environments\, large puzzles are put together one by one\, and these experiences are fused and harmonized in one complete work. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n** Please note\, Refunds will be processed only if requested 72+ hours prior to scheduled workshop date/time. SUMMARY:Self-Portrait Painting with Acrylic Paint
DESCRIPTION:This session has been cancelled.\n\n\nPlease don’t wait to register! Workshops that do not meet the minimum number of students 3 days prior to the session date will be canceled or rescheduled. Signing up early helps us ensure that the workshop can take place. Thank you! \nSelf-Portrait Painting with Acrylic Paint\nFriday\, August 21 | 10:30am – 1:30pm \nJoin Resident Artist and instructor Ma Nong for a full-day workshop to create a self portrait using acrylic paint! SUMMARY:Sculpted Acrylic Painting 2-Day
DESCRIPTION:This session has been canceled.\n\n\n*Please don’t wait to register! Workshops that do not meet the minimum number of students 3 days prior to the session date will be canceled or rescheduled. Signing up early helps us ensure that the workshop can take place. Thank you! \nNEW! Sculpted Acrylic Painting – A Two-Day Workshop \nAugust 14 & 15 – 10:30am – 1:30pm (No makeup dates) \nEver wonder how to create paintings with real volume and texture? In this hands-on workshop\, you’ll shape and carve with molding paste and a palette knife directly on your canvas. Then the next day\, you’ll bring the surface to life with acrylic color\, allowing pigment to settle into the ridges and valleys to bring out depth and movement. Through guided demonstrations and individual instruction\, you’ll explore color mixing and the interplay of light across the raised and recessed areas. Both beginners and experienced painters\, welcome. \nSupply List*: \n• Canvas — minimum 16″ × 20″\, maximum 36″ × 36″ (pre-gesso preferred) \n• Acrylic paints — 4–5 colors plus black. Optional: fluorescent\, neon\, or metallic colors \n• Molding paste — 16 oz container \n• Palette paper for mixing paint \n• Palette knife and at least one kitchen utensil: fork\, potato masher\, grater\, etc \n• Brushes — preferably filberts \n*Students must provide their own materials \nArt websites: Jerrysartarama.com\, blick.com\, Utrecht.com\, amazon.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor Information: \nFran Mann Goodman \nI am an abstract expressionist painter and educator whose work explores movement\, texture\, and emotional expression through layered surfaces and vibrant color. My paintings have been exhibited in more than fifty gallery exhibitions and are held in private collections internationally\, including those of prominent Hollywood collectors. \nI received my formal training in fine art at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles\, where I developed a disciplined studio practice and a strong understanding of visual language. Years later\, after recovering from Lyme disease\, I returned fully to painting and continued my studies through master classes with renowned abstract expressionist Larry Poons at the Art Students League of New York. \nBefore returning to my studio practice\, I spent more than thirty years in the beauty industry\, teaching women to approach makeup as an expressive art form. Through workshops and self-development programs across the United States and Canada\, I explored identity and self-representation through the face. This work received national media attention\, including appearances on television talk shows and features in major women’s magazines and The New York Times. \nTeaching is central to my professional life. For more than twelve years I have taught a program I developed\, Not Your Ordinary Painting Class\, offered both online and in person. The program blends art history with techniques in abstract expressionism and is designed for both beginners and experienced painters\, encouraging freedom of expression through color\, texture\, and layered surfaces. In addition to my ongoing classes\, I lead hands-on painting workshops that explore a variety of experimental applications\, including sculpted painting surfaces\, acrylic skins\, and collage materials such as paper towels. I have also published articles on these techniques and have been featured in Delray Magazine and Boca Magazine.

SUMMARY:New Nostalgia | Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:NEW NOSTALGIA\n&REW SORIA\nEast Gallery\nJoin us for a first look on August 7th\, 6 – 9pm. Part of First Friday Art Walk\nArts Warehouse presents New Nostalgia\, works by Andrew Soria. Soria’s work consists of unique landscapes created from reimagined photographs. His subjects are iconic architecture\, city streets\, and overlooked urban details\, discovered through immersion in a specific area. Often walking these urban areas\, Soria takes photographs on site and assembles the images into pop surreal compositions. The new landscapes have a kitschy and nostalgic feel as the familiar imagery encourages connection and memory of somewhere one may have visited before. At first glance\, the images appear colorful and inviting however when viewed more closely\, small disruptions\, hidden details\, and symbolic elements begin to surface\, pointing to themes of displacement\, inequality\, resilience\, and longing. These new landscapes also act as documentation of a place\, preserving the character or specific iconography as the place evolves and sometimes disappears. \nThe exhibition includes a selection of Soria’s assembled landscapes from various locations such as Mexico City\, Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood\, and Fremont Street in Las Vegas\, Nevada. A life-size piece spanning 9 feet wide titled Mementos of America is also on view. With the larger format it creates the feeling of stepping into the landscape\, and provides an opportunity to closely observe the hidden details. Alongside the large work\, detail shots that are isolating and highlighting imagery found within the large format piece. These layered scenes encourage viewers to slow down and spend time with the work\, much like how we experience the neighborhoods we live in or move through. The images reflect how neighborhoods grow\, change\, and sometimes break under social\, economic\, and cultural pressure. \nNew Nostalgia is on view in the East Gallery at Arts Warehouse beginning August 7 – September 26\, 2026. \nAndrew Soria [B. 1986\, Red Bank\, NJ] is a pop surrealist photographer known for hyperreal\, large-scale cityscape composites. Drawing from his Latino heritage and personal experiences\, he constructs dense\, vividly colored environments by individually photographing and assembling architectural elements\, signage\, and urban textures into meticulously detailed compositions. \nHis work explores the tension between nostalgia and modernity\, often centering on the visual overload of commercial landscapes and the stories embedded within them. Series such as Welcome to the Neighborhood\, Beverly Row\, and Faded Glory examine themes of class disparity\, cultural identity\, and the layered contradictions of city life\, using surreal photomontage to transform familiar places into immersive\, dreamlike environments. \nSoria has exhibited internationally in cities including Miami\, New York\, Los Angeles\, San Francisco\, Paris\, Berlin\, Hong Kong\, Toronto\, and Seoul. His work has been featured in publications such as Juxtapoz\, Hi-Fructose\, Plastik\, and Assouline. \nAndrewsoria.com \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Of Nature and Spirit | Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Of Nature and Spirit \nFeaturing the work of Tom De Vita\, Kathleen Kinkopf\, Amarelle Kukići\, Hal Yaskulka\nOn view August 7 – September 26\, 2026\nOpening celebration August 7th\, 6 – 9pm\nFirst Friday Art Walk September 4th\, 6 – 9pm\nOf Nature and Spirit brings together four Florida-based artists whose vivid figurative paintings and sculptures celebrate the surreal. While each artist boasts a unique visual narrative in their work\, there is a kinship among them in their depictions of nature\, symbols\, and unusual landscapes. Throughout the exhibition\, figures are seen intertwined both physically and spiritually with flora and fauna. \nTom De Vita’s paintings are recognized by bold tones and dark atmospheric compositions\, often situating elements from land\, sea\, and sky together. Hal Yaskulka’s paintings provide ethereal and ungrounded scenes of female figures among delicate creatures. A connection between animals and humans is seen clearly in Amarelle Kukići’s monochrome sculptures. Kathleen Kinkopf’s colorful paintings of intricate flowers and lush landscapes use layering to create multi-dimensional figurative scenes. \nThrough surreal imagery and hyper realistic details\, Of Nature and Spirit explores the whimsy and mystery of nature and our relationship to it\, whether in connection or in conflict. Each piece encourages extended observation as our imagination interprets the seemingly magical realms and stories within the work\, contemplating where we may fit in our own worlds. \nJoin us for a first look and meet the artists at the opening of the exhibition | Friday\, August 7th\, 6 – 9pm. \n \nTom De Vita \nTom De Vita was born in Queens\, New York\, in 1970\, and resides in Pembroke Pines\, Florida. De Vita received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting\, Drawing\, and Sculpture\, from St. John’s University\, in New York\, and his Master of Fine Arts from Miami International University of Art & Design\, in Miami\, Florida. De Vita was a former professor of art at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale\, Barry University\, and Broward College\, teaching painting\, drawing\, and design. Currently\, De Vita operates De Vita Academy of Art\, in Davie\, Florida\, with his wife\, also an artist and professor\, teaching traditional painting\, drawing\, and sculpture. His life has been devoted to developing paintings\, portraits\, illustrations\, and murals for numerous businesses\, residences\, and private collectors. She published her first book\, Inhabiting Bliss\, in 2021. After 2 decades in New Mexico\, Kathleen relocated her home and studio to SW Florida where she has found new inspiration for her work in a world of water\, giant birds\, thunderstorms\, reptiles\, and the magic and mystery of sea life. View a detailed exhibition history & recognitions below.\nkinkopfstudios.com \nAmarelle Kukici \nAmarelle Kukići is an emerging self-taught artist whose paintings and sculptures have been sought by galleries and museums across the state of Florida. Her work is deeply inspired by ecology as well as the shifting physical and mental landscapes that define our reality. Merging the familiar with visions of the surreal\, she creates dreamlike figurative compositions that attempt to capture the unease of modernity and our displacement from the natural world. Each mixed media sculpture in this collection is crafted primarily from discarded materials in an effort to build an eco-conscious practice that aligns with the environmental sensitivity which unites the full body of her work.  \namarellekukici.com \nHal Yaskulka \nHal Yaskulka was born in Brooklyn\, New York.  His one man shows include the West Valley Art Museum\, in Sun City Arizona\, the San Marino Gallery in Pasadena\, Ca.\, Harris Meisel Gallery in Santa Barbara\, Ca.\, Bruchion Gallery in West Los Angeles\, Stanley’s Gallery in the San Fernando Valley\, Agape Art Gallery in Culver City and Dassen Gallery\, Beverly Hills\, California.
