SUMMARY:Beautifully Broken | Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Beautifully Broken\nPresented by ArtHeart\nCurated by Katya Neptune\nOn View June 5 – July 25\, 2026\nOpening Event and AW Re-Opening Celebration\, June 5th\, 5 – 8pm\nFeatured Artists: Lori Arbel | Dave Buschemeyer | Moises David | Gregory Dirr | Chenco Gomez | Amanda Madrigal | Pablo Matute | Jose Mendez | Aurora Molina | Katya Neptune | Kim Noble | Felisa Prieto \nThe group exhibition challenges the stigma surrounding mental health while inviting reflection\, empathy\, and connection. While not all individuals live with a formal diagnosis\, mental health constitutes a universal dimension of human experience. Although one in five Americans lives with a mental health condition\, these experiences often remain hidden behind silence\, shame\, and social marginalization. This exhibition seeks to illuminate these realities. \nThrough intimate and thought-provoking artworks\, Beautifully Broken explores grief\, ageism\, reclaiming personal agency after a mental health diagnosis\, anxiety\, insomnia\, isolation during COVID\, addiction and recovery\, and dissociative identity disorder. The exhibition is the second of its kind\, the first having taken place at the Bailey Contemporary Arts Center in 2019. Both exhibitions examine societal structures that perpetuate fear and exclusion while honoring the resilience\, strength\, and creativity that emerge through vulnerability and healing. \nBy opening a space for dialogue\, the exhibition fosters both individual reflection and collective awareness. It highlights the interconnectedness of mental health and community\, advocating for empathy\, education\, and support as essential frameworks for change. \nExtending beyond the gallery walls\, Beautifully Broken invites consideration of creativity as both a vehicle for emotional expression and a lens for understanding broader social dynamics. The exhibition encourages audiences to reexamine assumptions\, engage in meaningful conversation\, and cultivate more compassionate and inclusive approaches to mental health. \n  \n  \nCover image by Moises David

Isolated in the countryside\, he would spend his time drawing and cycling long distances\, when not at school. When he was 18 his family moved to Milan\, and after beginning to study Fine Arts\, disappointed with the learning\, at the age of 20 he began a pilgrimage which led him to live in many places around the world. After studying Illustration in Falmouth (England) and then Dundee (Scotland) he went to Madrid (Spain) where he resumed his studies in Fine Arts and at the same time he began exhibiting in art galleries. In 2006 he won the most prestigeous painting prize in Spain\, the “Premio BMW”\, and in 2007 he finished his Master of Fine Arts. \nIn 2008 he moved to London\, where he had several solo exhibitions\, and in 2016 to Glasgow (Scotland). In this city\, where there is hardly any of the sun that he grew up with\, and while he was preparing solo exhibitions for international galleries in Lima (Perú)\, Madrid (Spain) or San Francisco (USA)\, he decided there was no point in struggling to find a good artist studio and commit to spending years in the same place. He stopped accumulating objects\, got rid of possessions and began to travel and paint wherever he was\, and then take the rolled-up canvases to the galleries with which he collaborated. In 2017 he began to travel with two suitcases and a tube for the canvases\, where he captured the inspiration found in each place. In 2023 Del Campo moved to Miami. Del Campo has had solo shows in Madrid\, Valencia\, Barcelona\, London\, Milan\, Lugano\, Lima\, San Francisco and Dallas\, and has participated in group shows and art fairs in Europe\, Asia\, the United States and Latin America. \nIn his art\, locations remain unidentifiable\, as he frequently blends aspects from one city with those of another. Instead\, his primary emphasis lies on individuals\, their narratives\, connections\, and emotions\, which surpass geographical boundaries and manifest in a more extensive human encounter. \nHe paints people his friends and family\, and the people he meets in his travels\, and fondly cultivates his circle without borders. His paintings\, far from simply seeking to capture a resemblance with his sitters or the reality as it is\, strive to construct a narrative. He gets inspiration from the stories of his sitters\, to speak about the uprooting\, the zest for life\, the solitude and the awareness of the ephemeral. \nIn his recent paintings\, he’s transcending realism\, crafting compositions that embody fragments of a reality formed by diverse moments and places. This connection mirrors the way we engage with images nowadays. \nMore info micheledelcampo.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Alcohol Ink Art on Silk Scarves
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nAlcohol Ink Art on Silk Scarves\nDesign your own unique silk scarves in this fun\, hands-on workshop! Using vibrant alcohol inks\, you’ll explore techniques to create dazzling tie-dye effects and abstract designs that transform plain white silk into sophisticated\, one-of-a-kind accessories. No prior experience is needed—just bring your imagination and enjoy a relaxing\, inspiring session. You’ll leave with two stunning silk scarves to wear or gift! One scarf is 21” square and the other is 10” x 60”. \nWorkshop is 2 hours \nTWO TICKET OPTIONS: \nOption 1: $65.00 – Includes all supplies \nOption 2: $55.00 – Bring your own Alcohol Ink (at least three .5 oz bottles – colors of your choice). \nWhat is Alcohol Ink? \nAlcohol ink is a fluid art. The inks are dye-based and extremely vibrant due to heavy pigmentation. The inks glide freely on non-porous surfaces and are easily manipulated with various techniques such as blowing\, stamping or brushing. Another unique quality of alcohol ink is that the dried ink can be “revived” when coming into contact with fresh ink or blending solution\, allowing for further process of the design. Alcohol ink is a fun and unique medium\, allowing for creative freedom. \n\n\n\n\nAbout the teaching artist: \nDebra L. Snyder\, Fine Artist/Potter/Instructor \nI began my formal art education at Parsons School of Art & Design in New York and years later studied acrylic and watercolor painting with renowned artists at the Woodstock School of Art. My favorite theme for landscapes and seascapes was inspired while living at the Jersey Shore\, the Catskill Mountains and the coastal areas of New England. My first encounter with alcohol ink occurred ten years ago while traveling in Arizona. I was immediately intrigued by this fluid art\, the brilliance of the pigment and its versatility. Unlike acrylic or watercolor painting\, alcohol ink allows for a freedom of expression which I find unique and challenging. I have been practicing as an alcohol ink artist since then and continue to discover new techniques and applications with this exciting medium. \nClay art has also been one of my passions and has kept me captivated for twenty years now. I am continually improving and exploring throwing techniques and I find the rewards of throwing clay immeasurable. \nwww.artpartyexpress.com for more information.

We’ll take a short midday break to relax and recharge. \n\n\n\n\nInstructor Information: \nRenée Rey\, an award-winning artist born in Sagamihara\, Japan\, lives and works in Delray Beach\, Florida. \nRey’s artwork has been recognized in national awards and exhibitions by notable museum and gallery professionals including Jade Dellinger\, Director of Exhibits & Collections\, Bob Rauschenberg Gallery\, Fort Myers\, FL; Julie Sasse\, Chief Curator\, Tucson Museum of Art\, Tucson AZ; Erin Wright\, Commissioning Editor and Producer\, Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art\, Los Angeles\, CA; and Gisela Carbonell\, Curator\, Cornell Fine Arts Museum\, . \nHonored with the 2024 Dina Baker Fund Grant from the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County\, Rey’s work has graced galleries across the globe. \nAbout the teaching artist: \nDebra L. I have been practicing as an alcohol ink artist since then and continue to discover new techniques and applications with this exciting medium. \nClay art has also been one of my passions and has kept me captivated for twenty years now. Signing up early helps us ensure that the workshop can take place. Thank you! \nSculpted Acrylic Painting – A Two-Day Workshop \nMay 28th and 29th – 10:30am – 1:30pm (No makeup dates) \nEver wonder how to create paintings with real volume and texture? In this hands-on workshop\, you’ll shape and carve with molding paste and a palette knife directly on your canvas. Then the next day\, you’ll bring the surface to life with acrylic color\, allowing pigment to settle into the ridges and valleys to bring out depth and movement. Through guided demonstrations and individual instruction\, you’ll explore color mixing and the interplay of light across the raised and recessed areas. Both beginners and experienced painters\, welcome. \nSupply List*: \n• Canvas — minimum 16″ × 20″\, maximum 36″ × 36″ (pre-gesso preferred) \n• Acrylic paints — 4–5 colors plus black. Optional: fluorescent\, neon\, or metallic colors \n• Molding paste — 16 oz container \n• Palette paper for mixing paint \n• Palette knife and at least one kitchen utensil: fork\, potato masher\, grater\, etc \n• Brushes — preferably filberts \n*Students must provide their own materials \nArt websites: Jerrysartarama.com\, blick.com\, Utrecht.com\, amazon.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor Information: \nFran Mann Goodman \nI am an abstract expressionist painter and educator whose work explores movement\, texture\, and emotional expression through layered surfaces and vibrant color. My paintings have been exhibited in more than fifty gallery exhibitions and are held in private collections internationally\, including those of prominent Hollywood collectors. \nI received my formal training in fine art at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles\, where I developed a disciplined studio practice and a strong understanding of visual language. Years later\, after recovering from Lyme disease\, I returned fully to painting and continued my studies through master classes with renowned abstract expressionist Larry Poons at the Art Students League of New York. \nBefore returning to my studio practice\, I spent more than thirty years in the beauty industry\, teaching women to approach makeup as an expressive art form. Through workshops and self-development programs across the United States and Canada\, I explored identity and self-representation through the face. This work received national media attention\, including appearances on television talk shows and features in major women’s magazines and The New York Times. \nTeaching is central to my professional life. For more than twelve years I have taught a program I developed\, Not Your Ordinary Painting Class\, offered both online and in person. The program blends art history with techniques in abstract expressionism and is designed for both beginners and experienced painters\, encouraging freedom of expression through color\, texture\, and layered surfaces. In addition to my ongoing classes\, I lead hands-on painting workshops that explore a variety of experimental applications\, including sculpted painting surfaces\, acrylic skins\, and collage materials such as paper towels. I have also published articles on these techniques and have been featured in Delray Magazine and Boca Magazine.

SUMMARY:Drawing as Meditation
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nDrawing as Meditation\nLed by Juan Sebastian Restrepo \n$25\nAll Materials Provided\nThis beginner-friendly workshop introduces drawing as a calming\, meditative practice — a way to slow down\, breathe\, and reconnect with the present moment through mark-making. Using simple materials like pencils\, charcoal\, and ink\, participants will explore repetitive\, intuitive drawing exercises designed to reduce stress and enhance focus. There’s no pressure to create a “finished” piece — the goal is to experience the act of drawing as mindfulness and self-care. \nThis session will introduce drawing as a meditative and grounding practice rather than a technical skill. Participants will be guided through slow\, intentional mark-making exercises designed to quiet the mind and encourage self-reflection. Emphasis is placed on process over product\, helping students reconnect with creativity in a gentle\, accessible way. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor: \nJuan Sebastian Restrepo is a visual artist based in Florida. He received an MFA in Painting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a BFA in Painting from Pratt Institute. Working across drawing\, painting\, and video\, his practice explores perception\, memory\, attention\, and the emotional logic of everyday life\, often blending abstraction and figuration through playful\, diaristic imagery. Restrepo has presented solo exhibitions in Miami\, including projects at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood and [NAME] Publications\, and has participated in group exhibitions across the United States and internationally\, including in London. His work has been exhibited at venues such as the Coral Springs Museum of Art\, 1310 Gallery\, and Arts on Douglas\, and has been featured in publications including Cultured Magazine\, saw palm\, Stonecoast Review\, and Inlandia Journal. In addition to his studio practice\, Restrepo is an experienced educator who has taught studio art and art theory at Florida International University and Miami Dade College\, and regularly leads workshops\, artist talks\, and community-based art programs throughout South Florida\, including programs with Dale Zine\, The Things Lab\, and collaboARTive. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n** Please note\, Refunds will be processed only if requested 72+ hours prior to scheduled workshop date/time. SUMMARY:Blooming Hydrangeas in Alcohol Ink
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nBlooming Hydrangeas in Alcohol Ink \n*Please note that this workshop has been relocated to the Creative Arts School in Old School Square. For more information\, click here \nDiscover the enchantment of alcohol inks as we bring vibrant hydrangeas to life! In this creative workshop\, you’ll explore a variety of techniques to guide the inks into delicate petals\, graceful leaves and stems on a generous 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock. No prior experience is needed\, just bring your curiosity and willingness to play with these inks. By the end\, you’ll leave with a beautiful\, frame-worthy masterpiece that blooms with your own artistry. \nAll levels welcome and supplies provided. \nAbout the teaching artist: \nDebra L. \n** Please note\, Refunds will be processed only if requested 72+ hours prior to scheduled workshop date/time. SUMMARY:Alcohol Ink Art on Silk Scarves
DESCRIPTION:This session has postponed to May 30th. Click here for more information.\nAlcohol Ink Art on Silk Scarves \nDesign your own unique silk scarves in this fun\, hands-on workshop! \nTWO TICKET OPTIONS: \nOption 1: $65.00 – Includes all supplies \nOption 2: $55.00 – Bring your own Alcohol Ink (at least three .5 oz bottles – colors of your choice). \nAbout the teaching artist: \nDebra L. \n

SUMMARY:Drawing as Meditation
DESCRIPTION:This session has been cancelled.\n\n\nDrawing as Meditation\nLed by Juan Sebastian Restrepo \n$25\nAll Materials Provided\nThis beginner-friendly workshop introduces drawing as a calming\, meditative practice — a way to slow down\, breathe\, and reconnect with the present moment through mark-making. \n*This workshop has been relocated to the Creative Arts School in Old School Square. For directions\, click here \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor: \nJuan Sebastian Restrepo is a visual artist based in Florida.
