Arts Warehouse presents Kilti: Revisited
May 2nd – June 28th, 2025
Front Gallery
Kilti: Revisited is a vibrant survey of spiritual, colorful, and thoughtful Haitian Art in multi-media. The exhibition features oil and acrylic paintings, wall sculptures crafted from recycled steel oil drums, as well as hand embellished beaded and sequined voudou flags. The imagery within the works share celebrations, documentation of daily life and people, the beauty of Haiti’s nature, and mystical symbolism and figures.
The exhibition includes selections from the Atizana Inspired Collection, the Dr. Jacques Bartoli Collection of Haitian Art, and Kapha Gallery. This is a revisit to Kilti – or “culture” in French – an exhibition of Haitian works shown at Arts Warehouse in 2023. The second iteration has invited more collectors to share their valued works, and through the revisit, continues to highlight the impactful and skillful art created by Haitian artists.
The exhibition coincides with Haitian Heritage Month, celebrated annually in May.
The opportunity to exhibit the the work brought to Arts Warehouse and Delray Beach was by way of several parties. Delray Beach has a Sister Cities partnership with Aquin, Haiti, where Haitian Culture and Art are celebrated. Daphney Antoine, president of the local Sister Cities Chapter representing Delray Beach, learned of the Dr. Jacques Bartoli collection through the collector himself and was pivotal in organizing both Kilti exhibitions at Arts Warehouse. Kilti is an important part of Art History, and a collection of this caliber and diversity of artist is a treasure.
